From Nový Opatov, you can reach the Hostivař Reservoir on foot or by bike – one of the most attractive natural spots in Prague. The route takes you through the Central Park and then along Opatovská Street to the reservoir, where a peaceful retreat awaits in the middle of the city. The round trip is about 8 km, making it suitable for families with children on bikes or with strollers.
Once there, you’ll find opportunities for swimming and sunbathing on grassy beaches, as well as kilometers of forest trails for runners, cyclists, and walkers. In the quieter parts of the reservoir, you can watch water birds – herons, grebes, or wild ducks.
There are also refreshment stands, benches, and playgrounds, so your outing can easily turn into a full afternoon trip. It’s an ideal choice when you want to stay in Prague but still enjoy a bit of nature.
