The large-format artistic realization on an anti-noise wall – a polar bear with a walrus - refers to the neighbourliness. Two main protagonists are separated from each other with an ice ring that defines their natural worlds. The idea of a gathering of polar animals is about one´s own boundaries and their crossing, about tolerance of pluralism, about expression and readability, about spontaneity, about neighbourliness, about possibilities of touch, about dreaming, about gifts, about cultural context and about time and space.
In collaboration with the artists Marek Číhal, Jaroslav Blaha from Studio Petrohrad and the architectural Studio Acht and with a kind support of the Zdenek Sklenar Gallery, we have given space for a creation of a unique work of art in our residential project Prosek Park.
A large area of nearly one square kilometre, protecting the residential project Prosek Park and originally destined only to the function of an anti-noise wall, was transformed into a multimedia realization. Through the day, the polar bear with the walrus act as a traditional large-format painting that turns at dusk into a light drawing which shines in the darkness.
The actual work of the young Czech artist Marek Číhal is based on extraordinary spontaneity, combining intellectual performance with an exceptional imagination. The latter moves out of any convention, has the ability to draw the most out of its own temperament and a strong desire to confront its work with reality. And for all this, Marek Číhal has gained recognition from leading art critics, curators and collectors, and is one of the most significant representatives of the Czech contemporary art.
If you have time or if you are interested, do not hesitate and come to our Prosek Park to see the extraordinary modern masterpiece for yourselves. Both by day and at night. And if Prosek is too distant for you, feel free to visit us at the Lanna Palace. This polar fable is placed on canvas here and decorates the entrance area of our corporate headquarters.
